Guide to Print Materials
We want each of our customers to be aware of what they are buying.
Therefore, below you will find a list of the adhesive films we use for printing our kits. We tend to divide our films into two main categories:
- Standard films
- Special films
1. STANDARD FILMS
1.1 POLYMERIC PVC:
- Thickness 210 microns (base + lamination)
This film features a bubble-free, highly adhesive base, is elastic, and conformable by simply warming it slightly during application. It's easy to apply because it can be removed and reapplied multiple times in the event of a mistake. It's coated with a transparent polymer laminate for greater resistance and durability to scratches, weather, chemicals, and washing.
It is a material widely used for the reproduction of motorcycle stickers, both vintage and personalized, but not only.
- Possibility to have it in both glossy and matte versions;
-
The sticker can be coated with clear varnish after application. It is not recommended to bake at high temperatures.
1.2 CRYSTAL:
- Thickness 520 microns (base + lamination)
This is an ultra-adhesive film (the glue in this case is stronger than PVC). It differs from the latter mainly in:
- the greatest adhesive power;
- the greater thickness which, for this reason, makes it more suitable for extreme off-road use;
- greater ease of application as it is better shaped and conformable to the hulls with a consequent lower probability of creating creases or bubbles.
It can also be further softened during application with heat.
- Possibility to have it in both glossy and matte versions.
- It cannot be coated with clear varnish due to its considerable thickness.
2. SPECIAL FILMS
Our specialty films include all those that, due to the specific processing they require, have an additional cost compared to standard films (PVC and crystal). All specialty films can be made of either PVC or crystal, but they differ from the latter in the use of the special materials listed below.
2.1 FLUO:
These are films with bright, fluorescent colours (like the fluorescent colours of highlighters: red, yellow, green, orange, fuchsia, etc.).
- possibility to choose between the fluorescent version in PVC (210 microns) or in crystal (520 microns);
- possibility of having it in both glossy and matte versions.
2.2 TRANSPARENT:
This is a completely transparent film on which we print using a special UV machine that maintains vivid colors. We use this material so that the background color of the motorcycle fairings can be seen through the sticker, a detail that is especially appreciated when replicating vintage stickers. It is then further laminated to provide greater resistance and durability to scratches, weathering, chemicals, and washing.
- The stickers on transparent film are exclusively in PVC version (210 microns).
2.3 METALLIC/GLITTER:
These are films with metallic colors, for example, reproducing the effect of metallic car/motorcycle paints. This allows for electric/pearl colors, which are highly impactful for customization but also widely used for replicating vintage stickers (many of which are originally metallic). The sticker is then further laminated to provide greater resistance and durability to scratches, weathering, chemicals, and washing.
- possibility to choose between the fluorescent version in PVC (210 microns) or in crystal (520 microns);
- possibility of having it in both glossy and matte versions.
2.4 CHROME:
This is a mirror-effect film available in various colors (in addition to the classic chrome gray, you can choose from other chrome colors such as blue, purple, gold, and silver). These films are typically used to create visually striking inserts in custom graphics.
- possibility to choose between the fluorescent version in PVC (210 microns) or in crystal (520 microns);
- possibility of having it in both glossy and matte versions.
